Children with autism to gain funding boost 26 June 2008 The Minister for Families, Ms Jenny Macklin, has announced that the Australian Government will allocate $190 million over four years towards a Helping Children with Autism package. The latest available figures show that in 2005-06, the average recurrent government spending - state and federal combined - was $11,243 per state school student. Read more here… itunes brings universities together 4 June 2008 Seven universities across Australia and New Zealand are trialling a partnership with Apple’s iTunes U, a ‘university’ section of the iTunes store that provides students with free lectures, language lessons and audiobooks direct to their iPod, iPhone and computers. Read more here… 2 June 2008 In a bid to tackle the ‘skills crisis’, the Victorian Government is planning to overhaul the current vocational education and training funding model.
