Pilot Cybersafety Project to be Introduced in Australian Schools Media Release, The Hon. Julia Gillard, MP, 10 February 2010; Canberra Times, 11 February 2010 The Australian Government Minister for Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, Ms Julia Gillard, has launched a national pilot project to address cyberbullying and cybersafety in schools. The Australian Government has allocated $3 million to support 164 pilot schools to implement policies and practices that support the smart, safe and responsible use of technology. The pilot project will finish in April 2010 and an evaluation of its outcomes will inform the review of the National Safe Schools Framework, which is scheduled to be completed in June 2010. Ms Gillard also announced that the Australian Parliament will establish a Joint Parliamentary Standing Committee on CyberSafety.
